We have completed several beautiful Podservatories projects throughout the UK, each one custom-made to fit specific size, colour, and outdoor covering requirements.
Our past projects range from providing a secure and practical outside roof covering for gyms to swimming pools and restaurant rooftop settings to a stylish and functional alternative to a conservatory or pergola, transforming the appearance of many residential outdoor spaces.
Transforming open spaces
Outdoor Space Solutions have engineered the art of providing superior solutions for any skylight retractable or fixed that is required for any property, whether it is residential or commercial. Durably built and long-lasting they are the perfect way to transform open spaces.
By utilising our retractable roofing, commercial properties are able to use their top floor all year round whatever the weather. The reliability and ease of opening ensures safety and security for people using the terrace in all eventualities, including emergencies.
They can easily be installed as an extension to an existing house or rooftop or onto a new build project.

Product details
Minimum height of the enclosure is 500mm. Span depends upon the width of the enclosure. If possible they can be customised to lower heights.
The track width is calculated depending on the number of segments, for up to 10m span roof, each track is 100mm. Thickness of the track used for roofs and enclosures up to 10m span is 15mm. Above 10m span it is 25mm. All our enclosures are adaptive and can have a maximum span of 100m without any centre support.
Our retractable enclosures can be self-standing structures and do not require any centre support. A roof weighs around 14-20kg/sq.m and weight is proportional to the span. Up to 10m span it weighs 14kg and above 10m span, it weighs 20kg/sq.m

What is the lifespan of the Podservatory?
Made of A-Grade non-corrosive aluminium alloy with super durable powder-coating, plus UV-protected polycarbonate sheets that are 12 times stronger than toughened glass (the same used in helicopter windows!) you can expect a low-maintenance lifespan of 25+ years on your Podservatory.
Will I need planning permission?
In most circumstances you won’t need planning permission. If your Podservatory is larger than 30m2 or if it’s on a listed building or conservation area then you may need planning permission.
What foundations do I need?
Our installers need a flat, solid base to install your Podservatory, which we can provide at additional cost. We can build a plinth on top of your hard standing or build a timber or composite decking for it to be installed on.
What is the minimum and maximum size?
There’s no maximum size, and the minimum is 900mm high.
Will my Podservatory be warm in the winter?
The Podservatory is sealed with high-quality EPDM (ethylene propylene diene monomer) which is a versatile and resilient elastomer that will resist harsh environmental conditions. This retains heat – and provides leak resistance from rain and settled snow. Additional heaters can be added to the structure.
Will my Podservatory get too hot in the summer?
Your Podservatory will heat up – just like any transparent material – but the roof has a UV coating on it to detract rays and as heat rises you can simply open the roof and the hot air will dissipate.
If required, we can add a frosted vinyl or film on the panels.
Can I colour match to my house?
We can paint the frame in any colour of your choice, including wood imitation.
Can it open the full length of the structure?
The structure needs to have a fixed section each end for strength, but we can design two or more smaller opening sections to make the open space bigger.
